Our Jalapa Blouses take a single person approximately two-four weeks to make. All thread is carefully stitched to represent the beauty and colors of nature, such as hummingbirds, a variety of flowers, birds, and other beautiful figures. The blouses are made of rayon with cotton thread. Make sure to look at the inside of the blouse to see all the work that goes into each one of our blouses!
Our wool handbags are made by the Zapotec people with great skill and patience. First, the artisan makes the dye from insects, rocks, and plants found in the area. Then, they place the wool inside of a stainless steel pot, add water to it, bring the water to boil and add the natural dyes to it. After this, they dry the wool and weave the fabric using a "Telar" (loom) to make the fabric of the purse.
Hand Embroidered Purses
